Writing by Siobhan Henderson – Art by Caroline DaSilva

The snowdrops are wilting, the daffodils have sprung.
Our lives are off kilter, but spring’s just begun.
The chaos of winter washes away with time.
The chaos of life settles down in our minds.
Let daylight soak in, wash away winter blues.
Feel rain on our skin, while the flowers feel dew.
Turn away from misgivings, take a good look around.
What a privilege to love, to have our feet on the ground.
The past is behind us, the future unseen.
We can’t stare in the mirror like we did at fifteen.
Yes, the world is in chaos, but it’s a glorious mess.
We have worries to let go of, and a heart to let rest.
The crocuses and hyacinths, the purple well bloomed.
Though some may be trampled, new life will resume.
The sparrows chirp, and the chaffinches sing.
What a wonderful fresh start this season will bring.
